RO PSP - The Princess of Light and Darkness
If you haven't heard, GungHo is developing a new 3D RO Tactical RPG on the PSP, releasing later this year.

RO2: The Jobs Q/A
Time to finally show all the good news about RO2 Jobs and their systems.
*Please Note: all information may still vary upon it's official release, due to it being still under development. Thank You!
You'll start off with 5 Main Jobs-
Swordsman - Acolyte - Archer - Magician & Thief
Lvl. 1~15/20
Upon those you'll currently branch off from 2 jobs like in RO1.
Swordsmans = Knight or Warrior
Lvl. 15/20~50 ~99

Acolyte = Priests or Monk
Lvl. 15/20~50 ~99

Archer = Ranger or Hunter
Lvl. 15/20~50 ~99

Magician = Wizard or Sorcerer
Lvl. 15/20~50 ~99

Thief = Rouge or Assassin
Lvl. 15/20~50 ~99

Now it doesn't end there - Instead of Rebirth or 3rd Jobs, RO2 will currently offer a Light and Chaos system currently known as the "Chara System" [Name will mostly change]
At Lvl. 50~99 Players will be able to choose between staying Neutral - Light[Holy] or Chaos[Dark].
Upon playing as any of those Hues you'll be able to bounce back and forth of which side you wish to play as. However, re-gather points to change back and forth to a certain side will take awhile. Though this allows players to fully take advantage of some skills being offered while being Light or Chaos. Being Neutral will have it's advantages as well.
Will this effect Guild Building & What other advantages are there?
Chara system would be effecting the type of guild you are building. The more Order players, the stronger your Order Guild skills will become, Not to mention the type of guardians and locations you can take over.
The type of Guild that takes over more regions or a certain location, will also effect the world that players are involved with. Example: If Payon is owned by 60% Chaotic Guilds then the prices and treatment from NPCs to common Light Players will drastically effect them. Starter Jobs will not be effected by this.
This is all still in the testing phases since the development team needs to see if this can be abusable, or not - based on the conditions that are currently set for it.
Will my job change if i'm Light or Chaos?
Yes your job will change. Depending on the side you choose you'll become a new type of class with new skills unlocked.

This is still in the development stages to actually see if it can be a final design aspect for RO2.
You won't be able to just jump in the middle of battle and change into a Blacksmith, you'll be able to USE your blacksmith skills from the skill tree though. Outside of battle, you'll be able to change into a Blacksmith and take advantage of all your Blacksmith skills, while still obtaining and using SOME of your main job skills. You can still go back into battles as your Blacksmith - but remember your now limited to using some of your main job skills or weapons.
Tell us about the NPC system, I don't get it? I need to see how you can customize your "offline NPC" and how the user interface behaves, as I've seen how organized shopping makes a game more pleasurable and even helps the in game economy.
NPC's offline functions are pretty straight forward, as you'll have a whole array to different assets you can choose from. You can vend, forge, create, bake, the whole nine yards, just by selecting the pre-set options available. Prices for your NPC's services will vary as there is a Suggested price you should charge, but you may go over or under that. If your NPC is creating something for someone, the customer will select what they need from your NPC, allowing them to see your level skill for that creation as well. If your NPC if offering Users 1/2 the requirements [EX: Empty Bottles] then all they'll need is the rest of the requirements. If they meet the requirements, then Ta Da! You've just created white potions for your customers.
Once your Empty Bottles run out though, that option will be lost for future customers so the rest will be stuck providing the Empty Bottles, until you log back to hunt for the rest as a service to your customers. Of course though, this is one of the many options you'll have upon Release.
What will happen if I D/C in a battle? Will my NPC start crafting next to a boss?
If your worried about what will happen if your in a middle of a battle and you suddenly Disconnected, your place will still be saved and your NPC will not be activated until you active the NPC in a safe spot. It's a whole separated function that you must set, just like Vending in RO, but imagine logging off while vending and your Still making Zenny till your shop runs out. Once you log back in - you'll receive an invoice of your transactions and continue your adventure.
You said Acolytes will look like the NPC picture, what happened?
I never said thats what they'll look like 100% i said expect something similar, I'm not authorized to actually say it or not at the time. Designs of your outfits are not out of the question either - it's just RO2 is offering the newer design since time moved forward for Mid-gard, Knights even bare a slight resemblance to the Lord Knights.

There is some confusion going around about if it's Izlude or not, I'll make this statement now since I'm getting alot of comments regarding it. So here goes:
Izlude went through alot of damage over the years, as the surface started to collapse and sink into the ocean. Izulde started to become a feast for the raging sea, as the settlers of the now proclaimed "Old-Izlude" needed a home, so they've decided to take to the hill side to relocate. New travelers will find this place to be called Ludlow because the Lud is now down Below.

Change Is Good: Blog Advisory
With the coming of a new RO, and many things to come in the future...I wanted to finally give this blog a fresh new design, name, and approach.
I've have this blog for almost 4 years...nothing has changed design layout wise, or even the banner for that matter. I think it's about time I give this place a new make over...and tackle new things with RO, not just for me, but for you guys too...
I'm sure alot of you guys are eagerly awaiting my new posts, which I do have some to share, but it'll have to wait till I open my Renewal Blog. I'll still take questions and comments, and try to answer them accordingly.
Hope you guys will understand, it shouldn't take too long . Just visit back when you can, I won't be changing the URL, besides giving you guys a new one to use. ^^

Back in July I shared with you some concept works that were being developed for new headgears. Well today I can officially announce that some of them are ready to be part of your collection! As of right now they're part of jRO's special RWC 2009 DVD package. But don't worry in due time your local servers will soon get 'em, hehe.

Sorcerer
Hey Guys,
Just alittle awhile ago Sorcerer was finally released on Sakray-R. Here is a look at the sprite:
Now to share with you guys a little about the design. As you can notice, it's Japanese/Oriental themed Sorcerer, but if you closer at the build of the sprite, it's just like the Genetics layout to keep the major reborn designs intact. The Sorcerers wear magical amulets to amplified their new controlled elements. Both Male and Female lost the fox for feathers to match some current trends of sorcerer/magic users designs in other games. Female DOES wear a transparent dress and wear sandals.

Royal Guard
Hey Guys,
This is a semi-late update due to me running around with meetings and deadlines, so in short I'm just a few hours late from when it's been officially released but just to let you guys know, Sakray-R did patch the "Royal Guard" today with it's mount as well.
So without further a-do here you guys go:

Quick Cash Shop Button!
Hey Guys,
Something that's been patched through to pRO servers recently and will most likly be making it's way shortly on all servers, it's the Quick Cash Shop Button.
Yup just like on most MMO's now and days they offer that mini-icon to go directly to the Item mall instead of the hassle of going to the NPCs for the common items that you might need. Well this was requested by the pRO team, to get developed so that players that can't get to the Item Mall, can get the items they might need ON THE SPOT.
This is really a good thing for Guild teams now that might need Elites, LOL.

New: Red Cup
Small post today about a new and simple Headgear that'll be hitting jRO servers soon, and soon following official servers in the coming days to possible months.
The Red Cup

It's a typical Japanese cup that many choose to drink wine/liquor from.
Actually, this headgear was designed based of a (spin off by monthly) RO manga featured in Japan and was requested by the artist (Narihara) of the manga to be brought out as a new headgear to promote the newest issue "RO Am I going?" which will be released between this Augs - October. jRO players will have to wait till the book finally released to get their hands on this item while other regions will soon be patching and prepping up with their own promos.
Each volume in Japan will come packed with a ticket that will allow you to get this lower headgear. The tickets will expire if you don't redeem them with in a few months, so yeah.

RO Renewal Presentation Prt.1
Hey Guys,
I still haven't forgot about the update on Kingling and right now he's 80% finish just tweaking up some final frames along with everything else I gotta get done. Hahaha!
Anyways, I wanted to share with you guys a presentation that Gravity kindly arrange for the public (You) to see just whats *NEW with the renewal and the new classes skills.
Just remember this is part 1, so the 2nd video is being currently worked on at the same time as of the new sprites that are being developed to show off the 3-2 classes and some extra features. Well Enjoy!

The name might be different (Ex: True Love or Flower Veil ) and methods to get it on your local servers will vary as well. It'll be up to your regions license holder of RO on how they'll want to release this item to you guys just like all the rest. Haha. Anyways, Here are the stats:

Rune Knight's Colored Dragons (Ferus)
Today I'm gonna share with you Rune Knight's Dragon mounts with some different colored Ferus (Dragons) that you'll be able to obtain through Quests, and/or Buy able tickets to redeem to NPCs.
These won't change any skills or preferences besides color of the mount, and it won't effect your current dye selection since it's a whole new sprite file that gets replaced with the current ones.
So in short, these won't be available until ALL the color dye files (Palettes) are complete so that your Rune Knight can still travel with the dye you bought along with the new mounts color.
These options will become available with other class mounts as well, so keep an eye out for 'em in the future, of course tho. I'll update you guys when I can.

Ragnarok Online Mobile Story *Update
Well, as promised I was gonna keep you guys updated with the new RO Mobile Story for newer cell phones. Today I'm gonna show you guys the GvG, 20vs20 systems, along with some extra updates extending the pervious mechanics of the current development.


What has been added and changed from last update?
- Classes that can be found currently and used have been finalized which are all classes up to 2-1. However, 2-2 classes are currently being developed and will be patched through with your services once it's complete.
- Also, the maps are rotatable now. Alittle laggy when using it and the map sizes had to be reduced to keep it from killing the phone but it works.
- Current Town Maps are: Prontera, Geffen, and Izulde. Each containing 16 maps around each town as well. Plus there are plans for development for Prontera sewers.
- Durning Quests, NPCs that are needed to be talked to will give you a guided path on your maps and light up on who needs to be talked to.
- Quests will enable you to goto dungeons to battle with MVPs 1 on 1.
Onward to the juicy stuff !!!
GvG/Guild System/Party System/Friend List



Most of the data from your main RO account CAN be wired from the PC-to-Mobile. So any existing, registered friends, to guild, to party's will be instantly transferred to your mobile account.
Not much to really say about the GvG besides there you have it, find friends with your cells and/or PC to join up and go make a guild to go do WoE anytime anywhere on your mobile device!
Only 2 towns can be taken over which is of course Prontera and Geffen. Plans for expansion are underway depending on the amount of players that flood the mobile GvG grounds.

Expected time-frame for kRO Sakray 3-2 sprite patches

Small post today I wanted to let you guys know of prior to my post awhile ago on the Shadow Chasers this is the time-frame we're expected to finally upload the sprites to kRO's Sakray-R server. It takes about 3-4 weeks to finalize and upload the next sprite onto the patcher if things change I'll update you guys.

RO DS coming to the US! + Details!

If your not aware of Ragnarok going to the Nintendo DS, this is chance to get all the details. I've provided you with some info down below.
Specs:
Unit- Nintendo DS
Rating- E (for everyone)
3 Save slots
Maps - No 360 rotation of the Maps unlike in (PC) Ragnarok, flat 2d-3D look alike BGs.
Music - Semi-Remixed versions of (PC) RO.
Sound FX - Ported Sound FXs from (PC) RO along with some new ones that do apply.
Cut Scenes - There are parts for the story line you'll see the sprites and events act on its own.
Opening - There is a quick mini CG opening of just the main characters clip arts moving across the screen.
Game Modes:
Story
Wifi ( you and your friends (1-3 players) will battle through a 50 floor random dungeon called Mirage Tower collecting items and Exp, restrictions do apply there and certain conditions must be made to proceed to the next floor. )

3 Save slots
Walking - Taping or holding down Touch screen
Maps - No 360 rotation of the Maps unlike in (PC) Ragnarok, flat 2d-3D look alike BGs.
Battling (Skill enabling) - Different strokes with the stylus or tapping the hot key

Systems:
Party (You will be given up to 2 NPCs who will be tagging along with you in your Quest, durning Wifi runs you'll be in a party of 3 as well.)
Guild (You can set up a guild among yourself and parties in the Game, and also among your friends you connect with via Wifi.)
Equips (Just like in RO you can equip headgears and different items, your NPCs can be equipped with items too.)
Cards (Just like in RO you can equip cards to your Equips and also to your NPCs equips too.)
Stats (Just like in RO you'll be able to control the stats of your character)
Skills (Just like in RO you'll have a skill tree to work through as you level)
